sct endcap meetings 10/07/2003 hybrids: non-destructive testing on hybrid wirebonds trying something at freiburgh problem that they are falling off requires more manpower! schedule: about 12weeks delay at present 240 hybrids/4weeks next batch is august 18th spines: boxes: waiting for lids - getting frame v. soon going to distribute from liverpool kaptons: will be chased up. glasgow: waiting on decession of pre-qualification : looking at perl scripts of Dave Cholton (B?ham) to run for glasgow - talking with joe foster. first stage done - looking at cgi to allow sensible web access to files. : still looking at multi-module work - at present can only test 1 module at once. - making chokes!!!!! manchester - detector has a scratch!!! IV normal. no conformation tests done. all in spec. problems with the aero! need to talk to ashley. liverpool - some data onto the database then move to qualification. issues with the module envelop - liverpool need to get back to nigel and find out what going on QA: need to speed-up let geneva get on with things and cern still needs to finish qualification process pre-production: nut size - make sure it does not hurt the washer - look at and talk to steve snow to check okay 17/07/2003 AERO discussion Waldek is having problems - setting stream-delay : Temperature range 5 to 25C Vled = 5V, VDC_DAC = 640 ; works for Vdd range 3.7 to 4V Temperature range above 25C Vled = VDC_DAC =use what I am using now! Peters settings : 6 and 650 for cold and 3 and 750 for warm (55C?) Freiburg : 6 and 650 said it works -5 to +60 C Half hybrids (10) to ral to be tested Testing fullbypass test - problems going down to 3.V ! can go to 3.7V with the present settings. Change range of fullbypass test to 3.7V instead of 3.5V. Hybrid: Changed bonder machine - they look fine - no rework required Pull test done at freiburgh - fine. Getting 10 hybrids before next week Get 73 hybrids - going to hybrid SA - get them mid-to-end of august Testing older hybrids 11 tested - prodding bonds - and 13 missing/weak bonds Hybrids at ral need testing like this. Fan-ins: Need to do spot checks as they are not being made into hybrids. Spines: Paul Dervan dealing with distribution of these with HGM is away. At Geneva 3/5 not usable due to breakage of AlN on end of spine - near grove shape. Kaptons: No idea what is happening. Away on vacation for two weeks. Boxes: Received 50 tops and bottoms. 10 to go to each assembly site. AEROS: Need to get more Clusters Cern: made one module. Geneva: having problems with one (#4) module reading it out via optical readout. But find via electrical mode. MPI: made 2 qualification modules - added 12 bad channels of first one!! Thermal cycling of them - bit worried about one going out of spec in z. Prague: Valencia: making middle modules Manchester: making two outer module jigs. Made dummies on them and surveyed them. 3 outer jigs ready to go. Looking at spines from HGM. 3 more qualification modules to make for Glasgow they get 5. Will make two a day (real and dummy) to prove 2 a day production line. Liverpool: LLT to do on 5th module. Web and database results to add. Want to apply for qualification asap (from Tuesday). Need to get us ready the stuff. Glasgow: first module okay - need to check origins of bad channels. 2nd detector holds HV. QA: talked about IV - only up to 350V after thermal cycling. Send out web pages from cern/Geneva and Liverpool (UK). Want people to use perl scripts. 4-6 weeks to get all AERO patch cards. 24/07/2003 Hybrid: wire bonding seems okay from tests of new modules from hybrid SA 73 parts next week week 36 first production batch Fan-ins: nothing to say - on holiday august delivery complete Spines: worry about quality Boxes: no comment black inserts need cutting - jig not made jet so first batch willneed to be cut by hand Kaptons: Sent last week mod made to overcome a weekness of trace - added reinforcement. Clusters: Geneva: built one and half modules. problem with bonding of wirebond onto the chip 2 unbonded channels appart from that all okay - results to go on web soon 2nd moudle - assembly started last week leakage current problem on W31 - scratch on both upper and lower sides of module scratch due to glass on bonding jig. - no good thermal cycling of module 1 done. survey okay they have teflon jigs which trapped glass splinter. MPI have a replaceable teflon layer. we use clean room paper as liverpool did (do they still?) but ours work. CERN: Problem with DORIC - cant get it to readout? Ashley will try and help Sofia I asked wheather there is a rework possibility Freiburgh: bonded test structures MPI: pre-qualification module - mechanically out of spec. IV funny - goes up with bias and then falls back? Prague: Readout two modules together. (no RAL) Manchester: All details on the web for qualification process. 3 modules for glasgow: one module made, one being made today, 3rd requires hybrid. Glasgow: As 2nd module in spec no need to do re-work. Liverpool: finished final electrical test this week. data in database. going to qualification. Valencia: built module - in spec - just 8 consecative channels, 15 in total bad channels QA: FullByPass: 3.7V only to VDD discussion 3.5V on VDD for FullbyPass test - need mod of AERO - to readout via redundant link only change the readout mode with the FullByPassTest rest with normal readout mode. Site Qualification: do cern/geneva next thursday, manchester/liverpool next tuesday 31/07/2003 hybrids - all on holiday bar project leader at cicorel - wrap-around is delaminating - going to look at away of avoiding this problem in future kaptons - on there way aeros - 2nd batch going to be ordered sites geneva - made two modules - lots of noisy and low gain channels - has a problem with wirebonding - second module - IV problem - glass on bonding jig glasgow - made two qualification modules - fully tested one - survey done at manchester on wednesday - second to start longterm tests tomorrow - have a thrid qualification module now. will wirebond on monday
