Electrical Characterisation

Apparatus

All tests performed with the Pseudo-Optical readout chain of the AREO card.

Chiller set to 15oC for all tests. This corresponded to a temperature of 35oC on the hybrid. Before kaptons were attached, the DC electrical connection between the hybrid and module box was measured to have a resistance of 0.4Ohms. The module was held on the cooling point with a nut screwed finger tight into place by hand, no torque was recorded.

Note that for the electrical results correction has not been done at present forthe variation in he calibrate capacitor.

During wire bonding of the module glue was spotted on the fan-in over the bond pads. The decission to miss out these channels was taken and thus the module suffers from a very high count of unbonded channels. If these channels are removed the module has only 18 bad channels.

Thermal Cycling

The module was surveyed before thermal cycling at Manchester during assembly and at Liverpool after assembly. The results are avaliable as a excel spread sheet or pdf.

The module underwent 5 cycles from +35oC to 30oC inside an environmental chamber, in accordance to the forward QA documentation. The temperture and humidity of the environmental chamber and temperature of the module box were plotted as a function of time. The module was taken to liverpool for surveying and passed the QA tests.
