Monte Carlo Validation (2020-22)
Monte Carlo simulations are an indispensable part of the experiment, and it is very important that the physics, the model and responses of the detector are all accurately implemented in the simulation software. The MC Validation workgroup within the NA62 has the mission of performing rigorous comparisons between experimental data and Monte Carlo simulations.

Subtasks
- S1. Extension and improvement of exisiting automatic MC checks [1] (efficiencies, acceptances, particle masses, etc.) at Step1/Step2. Improve automation of Step2. Implement new MC validation checks. The status of this summer (2020) student project can be found here.
- S2. Overlay component production for the muon-halo component via Grid.
- S3. An automatic comparison tool for MC validation (password protected). See CERN NA62-21-06.
- S4. Using GANs to extend BDSim statistics: synthetic data project.
